Birth and Postnatal Doula Services

If you are looking for looking for a gentle, supportive, helping hand in your pregnancy, birth and beyond, also known as a doula, I can help.

As a birth and postnatal doula, I offer a range of services, from the moment you see those two lines, right until after baby is here.

My passion is informed choice. I am here to support you emotionally and practically, in birthing and feeding your baby, in which ever way you choose.

Support throughout your journey

My background as a breastfeeding peer supporter and babywearing consultant, mean I have lots of experience of normal newborn behaviour and can help you to troubleshoot the many common issues that you may encounter. After all, babies don’t come with an instruction book!

If you would like a less ‘hands on’ approach during this time, then I am available remotely, to offer caring, knowledgable evidence based support, by whichever method suits you.

Doulas Improve Birth Outcomes

Evidence shows that having the support from a birth doula can reduce the risk of Caesarean and instrumental birth, need for painkillers or epidural during birth. Reduce the rate of induction of labour and result in a shorter labour. Increase parental satisfaction with the birth experience, increase the likelihood of initiating and successfully establishing breastfeeding and still be breastfeeding at 6 weeks. It can also lower the incidence of depression.
